34th Breeders' Cup World Championships

THE PARTY The Breeders’ Cup World Championships brought out the stars, with Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack playing host to 13 races totaling $26 million over two days. THE SCENE Bobby Flay and Bo Derek, both on the Breeders’ Cup Board of Directors, and ambassadors Elizabeth Banks (Marcela in Seabiscuit) and world champion amateur rider Carson Kressley enjoyed the festivities. Camilla Belle, Laura Bell Bundy and Regina King hit the red carpet with Kevin Dillon, James Marsden and Dean Norris. THE HIGHLIGHTS Richie Sambora kicked off the weekend with a rendition of Bing Crosby’s “Where the Turf Meets the Surf,” the racetrack’s official anthem. Jewel put her own twist on the song the following night. -Karen Rose
