It's no secret San Diego is a pioneer when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. Here, our five favorite places to keep you in tip-top shape.

1. After opening its first shop in Del Mar, organic superfood cafe Beaming has expanded to six locations in Southern California. More than just a juice bar, this local haven aims to make healthy living more accessible. The outpost offers a variety of cleanses in addition to juices, smoothies, soups, salads and more. The hot spot recently rolled out a summer menu featuring tasty favorites perfect for the warm weather. Try the piña colada superfood smoothie with coconut water, bananas, pineapple, coconut whip and the Beaming superfood protein powder ($10). 7863 Girard Ave., Ste. 201, La Jolla, 858.263.1702

2. Plant-centric, gourmet resto Café Gratitude just celebrated the one-year anniversary of its Little Italy location. The entirely organic menu supports local farmers and sustainable agriculture to provide fresh and flavorful dishes—guilt not included. A seasonal special favorite is Kansha, featuring chilled ramen noodles with creamy almond tamari dressing, shaved cucumber daikon, kim chee, black sesame seed gomasio and marinated kale crisps ($16). Give the meal a boost with the Brave wellness elixir ($4); this immunity-boosting shot has fresh lemon, turmeric, ginger, cayenne essential oil of oregano. Talk about grass roots! 1980 Kettner Blvd., San Diego, 619.736.5077

3. S.D. resident Samantha Binkley has decided to help others make a change in their lifestyle by becoming a certified health coach. Enter Healthy On You, a coaching program that has a plethora of options to empower people to become accountable for their own health. Binkley offers a six-week online webinar program ($350) to help users set goals and learn to stick with them, as well as one-on-one coaching. Added bonus? Binkley also holds monthly cooking classes ($95). 760.2139360

4. Omni La Costa has brought its fitness options to the next level with PFC Fitness Camp—weeklong programs (from $4,195) combining fitness (golf and tennis renditions available), spa services and nutrition. The programs boasts a new state-of-the-art kitchen and wellness chef, Jason C. Keiffer. Now, guests can discover flavorful and healthy dining options through hands-on cooking classes with the chef and a certified nutritionist. What’s more, there is even an in-house recycling and compost program. 2100 Costa Del Mar Road, Carlsbad, 855.407.3207

5. A staple in San Diego’s health-conscious food scene, True Food Kitchen has unveiled the biggest menu change to date. The new menu keeps Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet in mind while still keeping a promise to provide flavorful food to its patrons. More vegetarian and vegan options will be available, with an entire section devoted to vegetables and one just for bowls (with the option to add protein, of course). Try the ancient grains bowl with miso glazed sweet potatoes, turmeric, charred onions, snow peas, grilled portobello mushrooms, avocado and hemp seeds ($15). Truly delicious! 7007 Friars Road, #394, San Diego, 619.810.2929
