THE PARTY The who’s who of the legal community gathered for the 11th annual Black & White Ball at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, presented by the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. The black-tie-optional gala began with a wine reception, then swept guests up into an elegant evening of dining, dancing, live auctions and casino tables. THE SCENE White orchids cascading from black vases topped tables throughout the Elizabeth Ballroom, where guests followed dinner with indulgent white and chocolate cakes for dessert. The soulful rock ‘n’ roll of The Cadillacs lured the well-heeled crowd to the dance floor, while others tried a hand at craps, blackjack and poker. THE HIGHLIGHTS Proceeds from the live and silent auctions netted more than $30,000 to benefit San Diego’s Children’s Choir, which welcomed attendees with upbeat song selections.
