Art lovers came out to the mod Encinitas Lux Art Institute for its annual Lux After Dark gala, which raised more than $250,000. Lux lures artists from around the globe to its artist-in-residence program and offers enrichment to children at its new Education Pavilion.

Board President and North County arts doyenne Linda Brandes kicked off the evening with a heartfelt toast to Lux supporters.

The glittering tapestries of Jamaican artist Ebony G. Patterson provided the ultimate backdrop—and all the proof needed that Lux is providing a thought- provoking canvas for North County. –Photos by Stacy Keck
