Celebrated San Marcos spa, Beauty Lounge Medical Spa, is teaming up with local leadership program MANA San Diego to help its dedicated teen members give back to seven lucky moms in the community for Mother’s Day.
The local non-profit and youth leadership program, MANA, works to empower Latina teens in their communities. Mentees part of the program will be able to nominate their admirable moms to receive the prize: a complimentary facial of their choice and a take home bag of self-care products.

“As a Latina mother of three with one more on the way myself, I am so honored to partner with MANA SD to allow Latinx teens in the community an opportunity to uplift their mamas with a much-needed day of pampering. After two years of school closures and remote learning, we all need a little more self-care,” says Shawnda Dorantes, Lead Injector at Beauty Lounge Medical Spa.

The spa’s owner, Dr. Guillermo Castillo, will select and announce the seven deserving winners on Tuesday, April 29. Winners will be able to schedule their facials any time during the month of May.
“Moms work hard to develop our young females into strong, independent, successful women. So many overworked mothers are so preoccupied with taking care of others and always being there to save the day that it becomes increasingly difficult to find the time for self-care. This Mother’s Day partnership with Beauty Lounge is an excellent opportunity to illustrate the first-hand importance of prioritizing self-care to our teens by rewarding the strength of their moms with some overdue pampering,” says MANA San Diego program coordinator, Johanna Lara.
MANA San Diego is the largest chapter in the country and has been around since 1986. Now, the chapter has more than 2,500 members and supporters. Many professional women with careers in the community work with the organization to help shape San Diego’s next Latina generation.
