Boogie Night

| May 25, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY The Bishop’s School’s annual auction to benefit student financial aid and faculty professional growth programs was themed “Disco Knights.” THE AUCTION More than a cool $1 million was raised in this year’s rollicking auction. Partygoers were outbidding one another for an English Lab puppy, which ended up fetching $15,000. (Lord knows that La Jollans love their Labs!) Other must-have items included a five-night NYC stay in a private SoHo loft with producer seats to Jersey Boys and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. There was also a ski trip to Park City and a dreamy Hawaii getaway. BEST IN SHOW There was polyester, platforms and Farrah feathered locks, but Ted Eldredge’s mile-high Afro was surely the show-stealer. THE AFTER-PARTY Taking a page from Studio 54, alumni and staffers got down on the dance floor to hits like “Car Wash,” “Disco Inferno” and “Stayin’ Alive”—and yes, they did the Hustle.
