Book It!

| September 4, 2013 | Parties National

THE PARTY MCASD hosted a cocktail soiree for the bold-faced architect William T. Georgis, who has an art-filled home in La Jolla. THE SCENE The glamorous house, which he shares with his partner, art curator Richard D. Marshall, is obviously featured in the glossy coffee-table book, Make It Fabulous: The Architecture & Design of William T. Georgis. The house is named Akropolishis, a nod to his Greek heritage and the property’s Mount Soledad location. Considering Georgis designs for the art world’s heavyweights, it’s no surprise his own lair features a stunning collection, including works by UCLA professor Barbara Kruger and UCSD prof Kim MacConnel, who attended the party with his artist wife, Jean Lowe. Other artists who came out for this festive book signing included sculptor Christopher Puzio and ceramist Josh Herman. Architect Jennifer Luce, a La Jolla resident, also made an appearance THE HIGHLIGHTS MCASD Director Hugh M. Davies welcomed the crowd to the event, which was capped off with a private after-party at the Akropolishis. Guests couldn’t wait to spy the mirrored powder room, shattered with bullet holes.
