The Party
Celebrated food writer Ruth Reichl returned to Chino Farms in Rancho Santa Fe for the Good Earth/Great Chefs series, where the author signed copies of Delicious!, her newest book and first novel.
The Players
Reichl’s dedicated fans were salivating over her behind-the-scenes peek into the New York food scene, which she famously chronicled as the food critic of The New York Times and then as the editor of Gourmet magazine. Happily, there were strawberry shortcakes on offer, reminding Reichl of her first visit to Chino Farms, when she walked through the fields with Alice Waters and Tom Chino eating strawberries and fresh corn.
The Scene
With signed books in hand, guests chatted about the next foodie authors expected at Chino, including Dan Barber, the food activist and chef-owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. –Photography by Tim Hardy
