THE PARTY St. Baldrick’s San Diego kicked off its fourth annual Shave-a-Thon charity event, “Share a Little Love,” at Quality Social downtown. THE CHARITY Jake Pescatello, founder of St. Baldrick’s San Diego, once again tapped JPR, his wife Jamie’s PR firm, to promote the event, which raised more than $42,000. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the leading contributor to childhood cancer research funding in the nation, second only to the U.S. government. THE HIGHLIGHTS More than 50 brave men—and yes, a few women—had their locks shaved. Hey, it’ll grow back. On this sunny Gaslamp day, guests washed down green deviled eggs with mimosas while perusing the silent auction. Hats off to the lively emcees, Frankie V. and Sonic from 93.3. But the day’s real star was St. Baldrick’s ambassador Trevor Wigginton, a 7-year-old cancer survivor. Photography by Tim King
