The Party: Fresh off its Little Miss Sunshine world premiere and another sensational season, the La Jolla Playhouse was in serious party mode. It hosted a VIP preview party for Sunshine, the musical, before pulling out all the stops for its annual gala. On this big night, the Playhouse was transformed into a 1920s supper club. There was even a surprise late-night speakeasy with decadent desserts and plenty of dancing to work ’em off. The Players: As expected, the scene buzzed with theater royalty, including Modern Family’s hilarious Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who hosted the event, Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright, local theater legend Arthur Wagner, who was honored, and Tony Award-winning actor B.D. Wong.
