THE PARTY
Foodies mark their calendar a year in advance for the original Berry Good Night dinner, so when the first annual A Berry Good Night for the Foundation party premiered, gourmands hailed to Bill and Michelle Lerach’s La Jolla Farms estate. Between rabbit ravioli, Baja chocolate clam ceviche and a harvest of other locally produced goodies, the 200 guests in attendance raised $50,000 for the foundation. Proceeds will support healthy advancements and education for food producers and consumers.
THE GUESTS
With a five-star menu come five-star chefs, including La Valencia’s James Montejano and Bracero’s Javier Plascencia. When farmers voted on their top toques who source locally, celeb chef Brian Malarkey came out on top as the award winner for commitment to local sourcing of produce.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
A party wouldn’t be a party without Snake Oil Cocktail Company and its dangerously good concoctions, but before the sips and sustainable feast, cuteness was the main attraction. Attendees were invited to cuddle baby goats and cradle chicks on the lush compound. Sounds like the ideal zootopia! -Photography by JDixx
