Garden Party

| July 7, 2016 | Parties National

THE PARTY Bloom Bash is a fitting name for San Diego Museum of Art’s signature fundraiser of the year. Not only does it mark the Balboa Park museum’s growth as an iconic outlet for culture, but the beloved annual tradition also signifies the social season’s transition from spring into summer. Partygoers were treated to an exclusive after-hours peek of the Art Live 2016 exhibition, which was headlined by L.A.-based sculptor James Peterson. Meanwhile Conrad Prebys, Debbie Turner and Audrey S. Geisel spearheaded the philanthropic donations. THE SCENE The famed John M. and Sally B. Thornton Rotunda was transformed into a floral wonderland thanks to Pacific Event Productions’ use of 5,000 roses, green Kermit poms, carnations and more. THE HIGHLIGHTS It wouldn’t be an SDMA blowout without a rockin’ dance floor—and this fete lived up to its hype. DJ-band hybrid NRG Club played contemporary beats while guests sipped PatrĂ³n cocktails and perused the 100-plus floral installations on display. Oh, what a night!
