The Party
Paging Truman Capote. The Encinitas arts powerhouse rolled out a black-and-white party theme to celebrate the long-awaited arrival of its new Education Pavilion.
The People
Staying true to its higher architectural calling, Lux tapped board member Anne Sneed, who generously donated her talent to design the new mod facility set on the picturesque 6-acre site overlooking the San Elijo Lagoon. Also part of the second phase of Lux’s master plan, landscape architect Glen Schmidt decked out the backyard and stunning amphitheater with native plants. Since opening in 2007, Lux has made a name for itself with its artist-in- residence program that lures big international talent and its vibrant education program, exposing local youth to the arts.
Best in Show
On this evening, guests enjoyed sliders and street tacos courtesy of Green Acre Eatery; desserts by fave local sweet master, Elizabethan Bakery; and Stone Brewing libations. This month, don’t miss artist-in-residence Beverly Penn, who will be making an intricate bronze sculpture inspired by our local habitat. -Photography by Stacy Keck
