Globe Gala

| November 15, 2018 | Parties

It’s only fitting that two fundraising events are dedicated to supporting The Old Globe—one of San Diego’s most cherished venues—and its programs, and this year’s Globe Gala was not to be missed.

THE PARTY The Old Globe went all out in style with this year’s black-tie fete in support of the theater’s arts engagement and artistic programs. The annual event commenced with cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres before guests were escorted inside the theater for a showstopping performance by Grammy-nominated Andra Day. THE GUESTS Globe Guilders Gail Dill, Cathy Golden, Mary Roberts, Kim Neapole and Carol Winter enjoyed an evening of music, delicious bites and dancing to the Cowling Band. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests dined on savory braised short ribs, Skuna Bay salmon and Parmesan-crusted cauliflower, but the highlight was the cappuccino and espresso bar offering much-needed fuel for an exhilarating night of dancing. -Claire Harper
