The Party
The 13th annual fundraiser for the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation took over the cove in La Jolla for a star-studded evening that brought together food and fashion. Bikini-clad models in swimwear by Sauvage walked the runway while guests abandoned calorie-counting altogether, feasting on bites from more than 30 top S.D. restos, including Cusp Dining & Drinks, Bice and Bijou.

The People
Event organizers set the bar for success high this year. How to top 2013’s moving tribute to Padre legend Tony Gwynn, among the last public appearances by the beloved San Diego icon? Answer: Enlist Monte Montezuma and a roster of A-list sports stars—including Hall of Famer Marcus Allen, basketball great Jalen Rose and UFC champ Rampage Jackson— to herald another legend, SDSU’s Steve Fisher, head coach of the barnstorming Aztec men’s basketball team.

Best in Show
With auction items like dinner at Herringbone with Charger Nick Hardwick and a VIP ESPN LA experience with Marcellus Wiley on the docket, more than $200,000 was raised for SDSMF to provide a medical safety net for injured youth with limited financial means. Score! -
