Heart and Sole

| November 28, 2014 | Parties National

The Party
The Charity Ball, the glittering gala benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital, is still a month away (Jan. 31, mark your calendars!), but a troupe of the hospital’s supporters started their legwork early at Prada in Fashion Valley. Prediction: Expect monogrammed custom heels to be a “thing” come the main event.

The People
The Italian fashion house’s sleek wares were tempting eye candy on this night, as a portion of sale proceeds went directly to Rady’s. Handbags beckoned and sunnies summoned, but the pièce de résistance was the Made to Order Dècolletè program—one’s very own personalized Prada shoe, available at the shop for one night only. Resistance was futile! The boutique buzzed as ladies pondered the possibilities, debating the merits of peep-toes and pumps, and deciding which hue would win their sole approval. The clock was ticking: The handmade footwear takes a month.

Best in Show
As ever with fairy tale-worthy shoes, the MTO program click-clacked into memory as the evening drew to a close. But Prada put its best foot forward, continuing to allocate a portion of sales to Rady’s throughout the weekend. -
