THE PARTY Riviera lit up the social scene—and MCASD—hosting the magazine’s inaugural Art After Dark. Vibrant light installations by Tenfold Floral Style & Design Events created a sexy, pulsating scene that proved a perfect match for the energy of Mercedes’ new CLA model, parked outside and attracting some attention from the young crowd, many drawn from MCASD’s Avant Garde group of art enthusiasts. THE SCENE Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller’s multimedia installation, “Lost in the Memory Palace,” drew guests into the museum, where signature Pear Smash cocktails were on offer from master mixologists QCW. Sipping on the acid-hued libations, guests grazed on light bites from The Wild Thyme Company, including mini filet medallions with housemade tomato jam on Gorgonzola polenta; Camembert bruschetta with cinnamon-poached pears and honeycomb; orange-cinnamon smoked duck on brioche crostini; and mini caramel apples. THE HIGHLIGHTS Artists Adam Belt and Heather Gwen Martin, writer-musician-DJ Chris Cote, and collectors Jennifer Nelson and John Dineen served as soiree hosts. But on the dance floor, it was all about DJ Chris Clemo, who kept the party grooving. Photography by Tim Hardy, shobyhardy.com
