The third annual Chairs for Chair’ity gains momentum THE PARTY In its third year, the annual Chairs for Chair’ity at Hold It Contemporary Home raised more than $10,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego. THE PLAYERS Twenty-eight chairs, including designs by Michael Soriano, Matt Devine, the JPR girls, Graham Downes and this Riviera editor, were auctioned. The chair receiving the most bids, Neko’s Penny for Your Thoughts, fetched $900. THE HIGHLIGHTS This year’s Wish recipient is Alexis, a 12-year-old with cystic fibrosis who earned her dream trip to Disney World in Orlando. “The true stars of the event, besides Alexis, are the chair designers who gave their time and talents to create these amazing pieces of art,” says Hold It’s Mike McAllister. Hats off to McAllister for making this event a must-attend among S.D.’s creative set. By Gillian Flynn, Photography by Tim King
