Calling all luxury-lovers and hypebeasts. Louis Vuitton opened its newest location in La Jolla at the Westfield UTC on Friday April 15. The sleek, opulent store carries a large selection of womenswear including ready-to-wear, shoes, watches, jewelry, fragrance, luggage and leather goods.
To enhance the luxury experience, the store offers a section for its classic customization to be done in-store using a hot-stamping service. In addition, the fragrance counter offers custom engraving on the Maison’s perfume and cologne bottles, with celebrated scents crafted by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.
The opening of the La Jolla location comes just three days after Louis Vuitton announced its 2023 Cruise show will be held at the Salk Institute on May 12, 2022, a mere four miles from the new store.

“Having spent a lot of time in California, I was drawn to the idea of showing there again. The Salk Institute has been a place of wonder for me over the years and Louis Kahn’s stunning Brutalist architecture against this extraordinary setting of the Pacific Ocean and the California sunset provides me with endless inspiration. It also celebrates intelligence, knowledge and the belief in the power of science,” says Ghesquière in a press release.
The show continues the fashion house’s tradition of holding its Cruise shows in architecturally beautiful and significant locations.
Also launching today is the Spring in the City canvas and leather collection designed by women’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière. The line includes neutral colorways, with a hint of deep pink, on classic staple bags like the OnTheGo, the Speedy, and the Alma. With beach bags and coastal flair infused in the line, it’s clear La Jolla holds a special place in Ghesquière’s heart.
The store features furniture pieces from local artisans that fit the vibe and accentuate the store’s connection to the community. On display is a vibrant linear painting by Christine Ruksenas-Burton. Locally sourced petrified wood stools provide seating in the shoe section, while seating from Atelier de Troupe populates the women’s leather goods area.
