Lucky Seven!

Riviera celebrates seven years at MCASD THE PARTY The stunning light exhibit by artist Jennifer Steinkamp provided precisely the fireworks needed to celebrate Riviera’s seven-year anniversary party at MCASD downtown. The exhibit in the Jacobs building is part of Pacific Standard Time, an unprecedented collaboration of SoCal cultural institutions honoring the region’s art movement from 1945 to 1980. THE SCENE Neiman Marcus Fashion Valley provided a steady stream of inspiration thanks to a catwalk frozen in time, where models acted as pieces of art alongside Steinkamp’s digital wizardry. Our fave: the green dress by Roland Mouret. Other designs in the house: Valentino, Victoria Beckham, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Prada, to name a fab few. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests indulged in treats aplenty courtesy of the newest catering game in town, Campine + Snake Oil Cocktail Co., which doled out snazzy sips and elevated tray-passed fare. Meanwhile, dandy chef Brian Malarkey was in his pegged-pants glory, plating morsels including pork belly and a mean crudo. Here’s to year seven, people! Photography by Jeff Corrigan
