THE PARTY Lux Art Institute hosted its “Lux After Hours” event to bid adieu to its latest artist-in-residence, Emilio Perez, who returned to NYC after a month-long stint, where he created a large-scale painting (and surfed local breaks). THE SCENE Let’s just say the male-to-female ratio was a tad skewed (understatement). On this night, ladies arrived en masse to the Encinitas art powerhouse for an intimate tour and up-close view of Perez’s sculptural work. THE HIGHLIGHTS Lux patrons Alex Yáñez and Sarah Dolgen kicked off Influx Social Collective, an initiative to lure younger art lovers, with an after-party (and craft cocktails!) at Flavor Del Mar. “It’s an interactive program designed to bring people in their 20s and 30s to see the evolvement of the artistic process through engagement with acclaimed artists,” says Yáñez. Cheers to that! Photography by Daniel Bini
