Design aficionados descend upon Palm Springs Feb. 14 to 24 for the annual Modernism Week, featuring design-driven events celebrating midcentury-modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design. The signature event, just two hours from San Diego, hosts an abundant 350 things to do, including the signature home tour, a vintage travel trailer exhibit, tours of Sunnylands and architectural double-decker bus tours, to name a few. The week isn’t just for the design-enthused to gather and rave over architectural masterpieces; it’s also a full-fledged charitable organization. Proceeds from Modernism Week help provide local students with collegiate scholarships in architecture and design fields, as well as support the preservation of modernist architecture throughout California—an effort near and dear to the architectural communities.
