THE PARTY Solutions for Change hosted An Evening to Remember at La Costa Resort and Spa, raising more than $1.25 million for the nonprofit’s programs to help homeless families break the cycle of poverty. THE PLAYERS Former first lady Laura Bush gave the evening’s keynote address, then sat down for a Q&A with S.D. Congressman Darrell Issa. She charmed the crowd when she quipped on life after the White House with former President George W. Bush, “...Turmoil in East Timor is no excuse not to pick up your socks.” THE SCENE Glittering, art deco-inspired decor created a sophisticated backdrop as guests dined on succulent short ribs.
