Newly Quinted!

| June 21, 2011 | Parties

La Jolla’s iconic art gallery gets a new home.
The Party: More than 500 people turned out to celebrate the new Quint Contemporary Art Gallery on Girard Avenue, a few blocks from the original back-alley space. A giant black pirate flag emblazoned with a “Q” flew overhead, marking the new territory. Quint has been a pioneer of the San Diego art scene for two decades. The Crowd: Major collectors, hipsters and museum donors were in the house alongside MCASD Director Hugh Davies and acclaimed artists Roy McMakin, Kelsey Brookes, Robert Irwin and John Baldessari. The Highlight: What better way to satiate creative types than with a post-dinner party next door at Harry’s, where guests washed down burgers and Belgian waffles?
