THE PARTY A four-day extravaganza of art and fabulous florals, San Diego Museum of Art’s Art Alive toasted its 40th anniversary with stunning installations, its black-tie Premiere Dinner and brand-new initiatives, including its Color Feast, Open Air Floral Affair and Bloomin’ Auction. THE PEOPLE SDMA’s Maruja Baldwin Executive Director and CEO Roxana Velásquez welcomed esteemed guests, like Dr. Tony Boganey and Erica Becks and Robin Wilson-Carrier and Gordon Carrier, to the Premiere Dinner. Floral artist Beth O’Reilly’s vibrant installation, “Botanical Graffiti,” served as the focal point of the fete’s cocktail hour. THE PINNACLE Velásquez beamed at the return of the institute’s biggest fundraiser: “We’re thrilled to once again host our annual Art Alive weekend, a celebratory exhibition that helps support essential public programs, education, community outreach and special exhibitions for the museum.”
