THE PARTY To celebrate the grand debut of The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, the San Diego Symphony invited VIP guests to its inaugural gala and concert. THE PEOPLE Honorary chairs Joan and Irwin Jacobs joined co-chairs Una Davis and Jack McGrory, Karen and Kit Sickels, and Kathy Taylor and Terry Atkinson in welcoming symphony supporters with a bayside cocktail reception featuring a Champagne wall. Celebrity chef Richard Blais served up an elegant five-course meal created exclusively for partygoers before a dazzling concert brought the night to an exciting culmination. THE PINNACLE San Diego Symphony CEO Martha Gilmer and board chair David Snyder addressed the audience before music director Rafael Payare and the symphony dazzled the crowd with a performance featuring enchanting light displays projected on The Rady Shell. In total, the gala hit all the right notes and raised more than $1 million for the symphony and its programming.
