With the average custom closet coming in at around $35,000, it’s no surprise that they have become so much more than just a place to hang clothes. “[Some of the most-asked-for luxe features are] techno-leather, a product we use for countertops, shelf surfaces and drawer interiors,” says Poliform’s architectural design manager, Leonard Temes. “It comes in three very rich-looking colors and adds an extremely luxurious feel to a closet. Also, hide doors—ours are real leather and handstitched. And, of course, boiserie. Adding panelling to any exposed wall surfaces results in the ultimate custom-closet look.”
