In a year filled with screen time and sitting, these hotel fitness programs are ready to get you moving.
1. Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa
In addition to its 18 gorgeous tennis courts, Rancho Santa Fe’s award-winning Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa has fresh new outdoor fitness offerings for spring. Whether it’s Sculpt and Stride, a boot camp-style class on the nature trail; Root to Rise, a walking breathwork class that explores the grounds; or Sound Meditation Healing, a sound bath at the 1,000-square-foot Yoga Pavilion’s reflecting pool, there is something for everyone. For a more intimate approach, personal training and yoga wellness retreats are also available.
Even though the beloved Hotel del Coronado is more than 130 years old, the property isn’t behind on wellness. With classes open to both guests and locals, its current fitness offerings range from oceanfront beach spin classes to sunrise beach yoga, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For a truly unique experience, try a Mermaid Fitness class, a 45-minute aerobic workout that includes wearing a colorful tail in the Cabana Pool as you work your core to upbeat music.
Who can resist a waterfront workout? Luckily, InterContinental San Diego has transformed its Bayfront Terrace into the ultimate outdoor workout space. From 7AM to 7PM, fitness enthusiasts can sweat and sculpt utilizing the Lagree Method through classes led by San Diego-based boutique fitness studio Elevate Pilates. For yogis, the hotel is also offering yoga classes on Lane Field, the historic spot where the San Diego Padres played when they were in the Pacific Coast League.
Rancho Bernardo Inn’s sprawling 265-acre location is perfect for outdoor exercise. The inn offers stand-alone outdoor yoga classes, in partnership with Mello Yoga, in the Santiago Courtyard, but we suggest booking the new Retreat to RBI package (from $750 per night). The two-night stay includes a spa day, daily outdoor yoga practice, guided meditation and breathwork, an interactive sound healing workshop, a tour of the chef’s garden, plus plenty of time to enjoy hiking and relaxation.
5. Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa
Book a weekend staycation at Estancia La Jolla to enjoy yoga and barre classes on Saturday and Sunday mornings in the gorgeous Garden Courtyard. Opt for the hotel’s Wellness Weekends package to score in-room yoga mat rentals, snacks and water bottles, an exclusive Estancia tote and more.
