Chefs and designers unite for a night of culinary art THE PARTY Riviera’s second annual To Dine For event was a drop-dead stunner of high design and four-star fare, with 400 guests at the La Jolla Farms manse of Bill and Michelle Lerach. THE SCENE Set on lush grounds featuring an aviary and sweeping views of Black’s Beach below, guests perused the To Dine For tables and tasted the delectable fare. The concept? Partner S.D.’s top chefs with the city’s best interior designers, let them dream up a theme, and go wild creating tabletops and menus to match. THE HIGHLIGHTS Our favorite tipple artists from Snake Oil Cocktail Co. doled out drinks with Pink Pigeon rum and Gin No.3. Meanwhile, a massive four-tier “fountain” of cupcakes—courtesy of Lerach’s Cups Organic in La Jolla—held center court. After falling prey to a few beguiling lemon mascarpone baby cakes, we should’ve jogged home. BEST IN SHOW Proceeds from the auction (for five-course dinners and personal design consultations) benefited The American Institute of Wine & Food.
