The Party The most prestigious event of the summer racing season hit the sceney Del Mar Racetrack. The five-star 22nd annual TVG Pacific Classic drew nearly 35,000 race enthusiasts, including the nation’s top horses and jockeys, to watch one rider claim the coveted $1 million purse.The scene The race, co-sponsored by Riviera, drew almost as much fanfare as opening day. Donning their favorite race-day threads, guests buzzed about the track, from the infield and the paddock to the swanky Turf Club. The favored method of keeping cool on this hot summer day? Sipping the signature Del Margarita (made with tequila and a splash of Grand Marnier), of course! The Highlight Jockey Joel Rosario took home his first Pacific Classic aboard East Coast transfer Dullahan, beating Del Mar cover girl Chantal Sutherland on her favorite horse, Game On Dude, in the final furlong.
