THE PARTY The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s La Jolla campus hosted the Biennial Art Auction, which featured important works like John Baldessari’s coveted “Double Bill (Part 2)” and fan favorite “Tablet” by Ed Ruscha. THE PLAYERS Surfboard shaper Tim Bessell, gallery owner Mark Quint, and artists Jean Lowe, Perry Vasquez and Marcos Ramirez Erre attended the MCASD’s buzzy art sale. THE HIGHLIGHT With 70 museum-quality works sold, the record-breaking total for the evening ($630,000) will go toward art acquisitions, educational programming, artist lectures and more.
