The Party Broadcast legend Larry King brought serious star power to Feeding America’s inaugural Sunset Soirée at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Considering the charity held its last fundraiser at Naked Café in Solana Beach, it’s come a long way, baby! The Scene The sun set over a massive sand castle on the beach as flamenco musicians serenaded guests who mingled and sipped the night’s signature cocktail, the Sunset Sensation. Later, the crowd sat for dinner and an auction with the suspenders-clad master of ceremonies, who captivated the crowd with stories from some of the 50,000-plus interviews he’s conducted in his career. Bidding heated up for items like a signed guitar from the night’s big performer. The Highlights Nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow rocked the stage with a 90-minute acoustic set that included her sun-dappled hits “My Favorite Mistake” and “All I Wanna Do.” The benefit raised $433,000 for Feeding America San Diego and its efforts to create a hunger-free and healthy city.
