Purchase a day pass to enjoy an outdoor remote workspace in a gardenlike setting, which offers access to premium beverages like Sightglass batch brew, cold brew, specialty teas, wine and beer. For those looking to utilize the two event spaces, each can host 40 to 75 guests. The indoor space comes outfitted with a lounge, a kitchenette, a bar, a buffet area and natural wooden tables, while the outdoor venue features fire pits, sparkling cafe lighting, fresh greenery, lounge seating and a blooming culinary garden. Finally, stop by Haven for monthly workshops—including a flower crown-making class with Communal’s floral event lead, Brystal Marks, on Feb. 11—and exclusive wine tasting parties featuring pours from Communal’s wine club every third Wednesday of the month. It’s an exciting time to be a diner in San Diego. While Jeune et Jolie in Carlsbad, Soichi Sushi in University Heights and Sushi Tadokoro in Mission Hills all maintained one Michelin star in 2022, Addison in Carmel Valley became the first restaurant in San Diego—and the sole restaurant south of the San Francisco Bay—to earn an astounding three Michelin stars. Led by chef William Bradley, the restaurant is now among just 14 in the United States to hold three stars. “California is a foodie’s dream come true,” shares Gwendal Poullenac, international director of the Michelin Guides. “There are now 142 three-Michelin-star restaurants in the world, with the addition of the spectacular Addison. It is truly a landmark accomplishment for the Addison team, and they have much to be proud of.” While they haven’t seen stars just yet, newcomers Kingfisher in Golden Hill—a bar and eatery serving Vietnamese French fare—and Valle in Oceanside—chef Roberto Alcocer’s love letter to Baja Mexico’s Guadalupe Valley—have now been added to the esteemed Michelin Guide. Yes, San Diego’s culinary scene is certainly heating up. addisondelmar.com; kingfishersd.com; valleoceanside.com
