Part of the Grant Grill’s Special Ingredient Tasting Dinner Series, this multi-course meal features the king of beef in myriad forms, such as Wagyu beef consommé, Wagyu crepes, Wagyu sliders and Wagyu Yorkshire pudding with a stone fruit compote. According to uber-Wagyu fan chef Mark Kropczynski, “the beef is sourced directly from Satsuma, Japan and comes with a certificate of authenticity detailing the lineage of the cattle that is given to the guests at the end of their meal.” The Wagyu tasting menu runs August 9-18. $160 person

Brainchild of executive chef Jeff Jackson, these intimate, 40-person communal meals celebrate the season’s local bounty from farms like Stehly, Point Loma, Be Wise Organic, Coleman and more. A new twist ushers in monthly guest chefs like Tim Kolanko from Blue Bridge Hospitality and Drew Deckman from Deckman's en el Mogor in Baja. On July 12, executive chef Jason McLeod from Consortium Holdings (Born & Raised and Ironside) will present a family-style feast on the terrace overlooking the 18th hole of the famed course. California Clambake, Hotel del Coronado
Nothing says summer better than a clambake. In commemoration of iconic resort’s 130th anniversary, The Del is welcoming guest chefs to its California Clambake series. On Saturday July 28, famed chef Javier Plascencia (Mision 19, Jazamango, Finca Altazano) will put his Baja spin on the bake, while The French Laundry alum Tim Hollingsworth from Otium in Los Angeles takes the reins August 28. Live music, horseshoes, cornhole games, and more add to the fun of this toes-in-the-sand summertime celebration. Adults: $125, Children (6-10): $50, children under 5 free

At La Jolla’s Pink Lady, The Med is hosting a series of wine dinners and events to complement chef Alex Emery’s innovative fare.
