THE PARTY A sunset cocktail party to toast Cohn Restaurant Group’s most out-of-the-box concept to date—Vintana, billed as a fine dining and event destination in The Centre at Lexus Escondido. THE SCENE After taking a tour of the super luxury Centre—glass waterfall and all—guests migrated onto the sprawling rooftop terrace, that boasts stellar 360-degree views of North County hills. Once the sun set, mod fire pits set a soft glow for the crowd to mix and nibble on “California modern cuisine,” courtesy of Vintana’s Executive Chef Deborah Scott. THE GOODS As its name suggests, Vintana has a major wine program. Partygoers were greeted with a glass of bubbly as they arrived, as well as a top-notch selection of wines from Sommelier Sheehan McCoy. The crowd couldn’t get enough of chef Scott’s blackberry-glazed bison spare rib on a bacon-pecan corn waffle with blackberry-bourbon gastrique.
