Sedona's Sun Cliff Resort Is A Private Escape With Stunning Views
|October 3, 2019|Lifestyle,
A modern Southwest property custom-built for two, Sun Cliff in Sedona offers exclusive access to Oak Creek, stunning red rock views and unparalleled privacy.
Some casitas feature an enclave on the terrace with a soaking tub.
Perched on 24 private gated acres overlooking Sedona’s Cathedral Rock, Sun Cliff touts itself as the only luxury resort for two in the Northern Arizona city.
The couples-only property has been in co-owner Kate Joy’s family for decades. She and her husband, Tom Joy, inherited the land from her Aunt Sally, who passed away in 2011. Local architect Eric Brandt reimagined the space as a luxury getaway.
“Our goal was to bring nature in,” says Kate. “There’s a seamless experience between outside and inside. And there’s an incredible peace here that you don’t find anywhere else.”
Expansive windows showcase the stunning surroundings, and the adobe one-bedroom casita features stamped concrete floors and warm woods. Amenities abound, including an outdoor soaking tub on a cliff’s edge overlooking sumptuous vistas.
The couples-only resort features sweeping views of Sedona’s natural beauty.
The plush space features a king-size bed with Matouk luxury linens, a walk-in steam shower, complimentary slippers and robes, and a pillow menu. The Joys were trained in hospitality at the prestigious Magnums Butler Academy—and can arrange whatever experience guests dream up. “We’ve curated several surprise engagements,” says Kate. “One was a helicopter tour that landed on the ranch where the proposal took place.”
Sun Cliff also partners with local businesses to provide guests with exclusive experiences, like a private 25-minute helicopter tour of the property. Book a private massage under the night’s sky as part of the La Bella Luna package at A Spa for You, or enjoy custom menus from the resort’s private chef.
Kate says the greatest amenity is the hardest one to find in a social media-saturated world—privacy.
“They’re getting the luxury that they want with the privacy they can’t find anywhere else.” $800-$1,000 per night, 3400 Red Rock Loop Road, 844.450.7839, suncliffsedona.com
