THE PARTY Nightlife impresario James Brennan hosted, and Joan Waitt opened her bluff-top La Jolla estate for the second annual Rachel’s Brunch, a breezy weekend fete that raised more than $250,000 for Rachel’s Women’s Center. THE PLAYERS Singer-songwriter (and S.D. native) Tristan Prettyman performed songs from her new album, Cedar and Gold, and played backup for Brennan’s young daughter, Brielle, who sang a self-penned song inspired by time spent volunteering at the center. THE SCENE Pastel parasols bobbed overhead as guests mingled and sipped Champagne, then sat to a gluten-free spread of pastries and quiche from Brennan’s Campine Catering.
