Silver Belles

The Party
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the St. Germaine Children’s Charity held its annual Silver Tea at the gorgeous La Jolla Farms home of Claire K. Reiss.

The Players
The ladies of St. Germaine—an all-volunteer private nonprofit dedicated to ending child abuse—took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather, strolling through lush gardens that were more tropical hideaway than winter wonderland.

The Scene
This year’s tea, themed Pearls of Hope, prompted the ladies to layer on strands of the opaline jewels. No worries for those without, however: A necklace of milky Tahitian pearls was one of the items up for auction. The grand total for the day? More than $100,000, which will go toward promoting child welfare in S.D. Well done! –Photography by Barbara Fletcher
