The sixth annual SEAL Family Foundation fete supported the organization’s many admirable endeavors.
THE PARTY Attention, please! More than 400 attendees gathered at the Del Mar Country Club to raise $1 million-plus for the SEAL Family Foundation during its annual dinner gala and Scramble Golf Tournament, including local charitable heroes such as Papa Doug Manchester and Jenny Craig.
THE SCENE The soiree also drew celeb philanthropic players to Del Mar like actor Rob Lowe, former NFL running back Reggie Bush and pro golfer Matt Picanso.
THE HIGHLIGHTS Keynote speaker Capt. Richard Phillips, who was dramatically rescued from Somali pirates by Navy SEALs in 2009 and portrayed by Tom Hanks in the film Captain Phillips, captivated the crowd during his headline address. William R. Fenick, executive director of the SEAL Family Foundation, praised the event, saying, “We raised valuable awareness and funds to help with our family-focused programs designed to ensure Naval Special Warfare families are resilient, which in turn creates stronger warriors.” -Kalah Siegel
