The theater is a major player in La Jolla’s cultural movement.
Adolfo Fastlicht, THE LOT’s CEO, and Sharon Fastlicht
THE PARTY La Jolla elite stepped out in style for the grand opening of THE LOT, San Diego’s newest luxury cinema that boasts a restaurant, bar and cafe. With free-flowing Champagne and passed canapes like yellowfin tartare, there is clearly more on offer than gourmet popcorn at this high-tech, modern ode to the big screen, designed by Ezequiel Farca and SMS Architecture. THE GUESTS Notables included real estate developer Bill Davidson and his wife, Dawn, a notable interior designer; jewelry queen Leslie Fastlicht Russo; and arts patron David Guss. Speaking of arts, THE LOT tapped La Jolla’s beloved Quint Gallery to deck the walls with work by boldface names like Kim McConnel and Mel Bochner, creating a space that feels customized to this seaside village. THE HIGHLIGHTS Ready for her close-up, THE LOT’s pastry chef, Alejandra Pitashny, erected a decadent dessert bar teeming with tarts, macarons, petit fours and truffles.
