The Party The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s loyal fans gathered to celebrate the annual Monte Carlo Night soirĂ©e, held at the La Jolla campus. A curated mix of avant-garde film and video from artists like Bruce Nauman and Vanessa Beecroft highlighted the night’s cinematic theme, “On Screen".The scene Following a seated dinner on the lawn, films were cast on walls and floors throughout the gallery. There were also casino gaming tables, roaming candy concierges and craft cocktails. The party was complemented by two live performances: Zefrey Throwell’s provocative game of strip poker, “I’ll Raise You One,” and performance artist/comedian/drag queen Joey Arias’ spot-on version of Billie Holiday.The Highlight With more than 260 guests at the dinner and another 300 at the after-party, about $540,000 was netted to support future exhibitions and education programs at the museum.
