As the first new hotel to debut in Point Loma in more than a decade, The Monsaraz San Diego, Tapestry Collection by Hilton invites locals and visitors alike to escape and explore in its 92 chic guest rooms, including three suites, during its opening weekend—May 9—and beyond. Midcentury modern design, with nods to Point Loma’s Portuguese roots, will be showcased throughout the space, including an 800-square-foot meeting and private dining room, a third-floor hideaway—ideal for soaking in the sunset with a cocktail in hand—and The Westerly Public House. The 60-seat restaurant, inspired by Aussie and SoCal surf culture, will serve sustainable and locally sourced fare ranging from fish and chips to peri peri chicken. A 4,000-square-foot open-air courtyard, complete with a plant wall, three-story mural and a whimsical focal-point tree, will round out the enchanting design. 1451 Rosecrans St., Point Loma, 619.790.5700, hilton.com
