Parkway Plaza is hosting its very own culinary competition, Taste for the Space, bringing in culinary professionals from local restaurants to compete in the shopping center’s one-day challenge. The challenge will take place on October 15, giving Parkway Plaza guests and panelists the opportunity to taste and vote.

Taste for the Space will feature ten contestants who will craft and serve their best dishes at Parkway Plaza.

For one day, guests will have the opportunity to taste the fare and vote for their favorite cuisine in a festival-style event. A panel of local food connoisseurs will judge alongside visitors.
Parkway Plaza is inviting local businesses, food trucks, aspiring restaurateurs, and culinary professionals to apply to enter the challenge. Applications can be submitted until August 27, and finalists will be announced on September 1.
The selected competitors will vie for a permanent dining spot at Parkway Plaza, along with the first three months’ rent and a $20,000 business investment. The winner will establish themselves as a sought-after eating destination, giving local restaurants, aspiring restaurateurs, and rising chefs the chance to make a name for themselves in San Diego.

The event will also enrich the community, allowing local guests to not only be a part of the experience but also influence it. As the competition narrows down, patrons of the eateries will be able to follow along and root for their best pick.
