THE PARTY Nordstrom presented the 21st annual Mama’s Day, the small-plate soirée featuring San Diego’s top restaurants and benefiting local nonprofit Mama’s Kitchen, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. THE SCENE The hotel’s poolside patio was packed with floral arrangements galore and hundreds of partygoers, who lined up at 60 culinary stations featuring bites from Addison, Zenbu and everything in between. Riviera’s VIP poolside cabana was a hot spot fueled with cocktails and highlighted by a demo from Snake Oil Cocktail Company and Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien. Cap’n Crunch seared tuna, anyone? THE HIGHLIGHT Guests were wowed by the night’s most popular Super Silent Auction items: a four-night stay at Bahía Tulum in Mexico and a catered Skybox for 20 at Petco Park. BEST IN SHOW The party netted $190,000, allowing Mama’s Kitchen to continue providing meals to locals battling AIDS and cancer. Way to make Mama proud! Photography by Tim Hardy
