It all started in 1937 when Bing Crosby welcomed the first race fans to Del Mar. Little did he know he was kicking off a tradition that has become one of San Diego’s most popular annual attractions for 85 years. Each fall, we honor that tradition with the running of the Bing Crosby Season – four weeks of spectacular Thoroughbred racing at the seaside oval. The Bing Crosby Season may be in its final weeks but there are still plenty of days ahead to plan your time at the track.
2022 is highlighted with new events and activities during Del Mar’s fall season. You can gain access to the exclusive Turf Club with two single-day options. Start your weekend a little early with Turf Club Fridays, the ultimate happy hour featuring the finest in world-class trackside hors d’oeuvres, libations and racing. Or enjoy the ultimate Del Mar experience with Taste of the Turf Club. Enjoy a creative, locally-inspired menu with a million-dollar view. Tickets include one daily Turf Club admission, seat and program, plus a three-course brunch with bottomless Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s until 3:00 p.m.
Plan to celebrate a special Thanksgiving at the track on Thursday, November 24th. Get the festivities started with an 11:00 a.m. first post while dining on a delicious three-course Thanksgiving feast paired with bottomless bubbly until 1:30 p.m. in the Turf Club.
The pinnacle of the Bing Crosby Season racing is the Del Mar Turf Festival, showcasing a racing card featuring nine turf races (8 graded) over nine days with total purses of nearly $2 million.
