Downtown San Diego’s Westgate Hotel will ring in the New Year with a Mad Men style celebration on Wednesday, December 31. With festivities beginning at 7PM, the extravagant evening will pay a nod to the beloved era with a vintage cocktail reception, five-course wine paired dinner, a live quartet and a midnight balloon drop complete with a Champagne toast. In the spirit of Mad Men, attendees are encouraged to slip on their finest retro-glamorous attire for the ritzy all-inclusive celebration.
The night will begin with a 1960s classic cocktail reception inspired by artistic vintage musts including Manhattans, French 75’s and Gimlets. Following the on-theme boozy commencement, guests will take a seat in the extravagant Versailles Ballroom to indulge in Executive Chef Fabrice Hardel’s five-course wine paired dinner, a spread recreating favorite mid-century dishes. With evening long melodies from Lorraine Castellanos’ quartet, attendees are sure to “dine like Draper and drink like Sterling” at this Mad Men-inspired grand party. Welcome 2015 in true swanky style when the clock strikes midnight as the ballroom ceiling hails balloons in a celebratory drop accompanied by a complimentary Champagne toast.
Following the night’s merriment, Westgate Hotel will welcome 2015 with a New Year’s Day Brunch in Le Fontainebleau Room on January 1. From 11AM-3PM, guests will enjoy a special menu priced at $69 per person. Tickets to Westgate’s Mad Men New Year’s Eve celebration are priced at $179 per guest. Seating is limited and early reservations are encouraged.
