THE PARTY
Golden balloons bobbed overhead like tiny bubbles in the sparkling wine when Magnifico Giornata welcomed luminaries for its launch party at La Jolla’s Herringbone.
THE SCENE
Taking their cue to “Be Magnifico,” guests lounged under the olive tree in the atrium, where a DJ spun tunes and the brand’s telltale glitzy bottles made their way around the room. Dressed in chic black, Suzanne Giannella—Magnifico’s co-founder and creative director, who traveled to Bordeaux developing the infused bubbly’s floral and fruity essences—made the rounds while co-founder, president and CEO Bob Manfredonia held court in the dining room, where the bar was packed.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Servers poured three sparklers—ginger pêche, grapefruit blanc and lavender honey—that paired with beet tartar and goat-cheese nibbles; cured salmon flatbread with creme fraiche and caviar; and passion fruit pâte de fruits. Herringbone, a favorite of the La Jolla-based Magnifico crew, is among the first of S.D. restos to add the sparkling wine to its list.
