The Party
As the sun set over the Pacific, the Salk Institute hosted an intimate conversation with best-selling author, activist and food-world rock star Michael Pollan.

The Players
Clutching dog-eared copies of Pollan’s books, including the instaclassic The Omnivore’s Dilemma, a hand-selected group of community leaders and research heavy hitters mingled in the sleek Salk foyer after Pollan spoke at length on food and health.

The Scene
Nibbling fruit skewers, stuffed button mushrooms and Caprese skewers with baby artichokes, guests could be heard quipping Pollan’s famous admonishment, “Eat food... mostly plants,” while waiting to have their books signed by the good-eating guru. –Photography by Tim Hardy,
