The Party The ladies of Las Patronas did it again for this year’s Italian-themed gala, Passeggiata, held at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. The Scene At the Riviera-sponsored cocktail reception, VIPs nibbled on fare from Campine Catering while strolling thegrounds. Under lights, nearly 800 guests enjoyed a romantic dinner courtesy of Hyatt Regency La Jolla. The best part? The 14-piece dance band Side Effect had guests boogying into the wee hours. The décor Paging La Dolce Vita! The beach club was transformed into a twinkling, midcentury-inspired Roman village. Rough-hewn tables were topped with potted olive trees and flickering candles. Meanwhile, a grotto lounge near the dance floor featured mod chandeliers and faux rock walls. Since its inception, Las Patronas has donated more than $16 million to 1,000 S.D. charities. Now that’s a cause for celebration! Photography by Michael Spengler; Tim Hardy, shotbyhardy.com
