West in Show

| January 8, 2013 | Parties

THE PARTY Following a $180 million revitalization, Westfield UTC mall reopened with a bang—and a pop star, thanks to Natasha Bedingfield! Riviera hosted a VIP reception with lounge seating, libations, bites courtesy of Authentic Flavors and an espresso bar to keep the chic crowd warm. THE SCENE Dotted with fountains and fire pits, the Palm Plaza was packed with more than 1,000 guests vying to see E! News and Fashion Police star Giuliana Rancic, who hosted a runway show featuring looks from a dozen retailers, including Anthropologie and J.Crew. With the upcoming awards season on the brain, Rancic forecasted some fashion showstoppers: “Sandra Bullock, Brad and Angelina, and I always love a good Clooney sighting on the red carpet.” THE HIGHLIGHTS During the mall party, San Diego nonprofit Surfrider Foundation received a $10,000 donation from Westfield. Afterward, Brit performer Bedingfield commanded the stage with her catchy, soulful hits, “Pocketful of Sunshine,” “Love Like This,” “Unwritten” and a cool cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain.” Photography by Tim Hardy and Hulse Photography
